The AVCP Regional Housing Authority (RHA) recently traveled upriver for a quarterly meeting with the community leaders of Akiak, Alaska. It was a great experience to meet in person with the Akiak Tribal Council, Native Corporation, and City representatives. The purpose of the meeting was to discuss current projects, assist in local coordination, and to hear directly from the community about future housing needs.
During this trip, AVCP RHA staff also visited six newly constructed homes that are nearing completion. These homes will soon be ready for six families in Akiak, promoting our organization’s mission of addressing the significant issue of overcrowding in the region.
AVCP Regional Housing Authority is committed to providing sustainable, affordable housing to remote communities in the Y-K Delta, ensuring everyone has a place to call home.
