Emergency Voucher Assistance (EVA) Program provides assistance to qualified applicants for the prevention of utility shutoffs; purchase of fuel; and house payments. The program is available in for tribal members living in communities where tribe has named the AVCP Regional Housing Authority as the Tribally Designated Housing Entity.
EVA Assistance is limited to one individual per household. EVA is a one-time assistance per year. The assistance is limited to $1,000 per home per year. Assistance is depended on funding availability.
Interested households need to submit a complete application to assist in program eligibility.
The applicant must provide proof of financial hardship and the need for assistance. The proof can be a notice from the utility company of utility cut-off; from the fuel vendor of denial of heating fuel purchase on credit; or from your housing provider of notice of late house payments. Applicant must state why they are having problems in paying their bills. AVCP RHA shall verify the need by contacting the vendor(s). AVCP RHA may use third-party written verification from local government agency or a non-profit agency.
