AVCP RHA has the following homeownership programs for individual and families.
Mutual Help Program. This program was offered under the 1937 Housing Act. Program highlights:
- Family meet program eligible requirements
- Exceed minimum income requirements and not exceed maximum income requirements
- Sign the Mutual Help Occupancy Agreement (MHOA)
- Make monthly house payments
- Do all of the maintenance and repair to the unit
- Responsible for all costs associated with maintenance and repair
- Use the house as the primary place of residence
- Participate in annual inspections and recertifications
Home Mortgage Program. The HMP is the deed of trust program used for houses constructed under the NAHASDA program. Program highlights:
- Family meet program eligible requirements
- Exceed minimum income requirements and not exceed maximum income requirements
- Sign Deed of Trust and Promissory Note for 25 years
- The deed is recorded in the state recorder’s office
- Make monthly house payments
- Do all of the maintenance and repair to the unit
- Responsible for all costs associated with maintenance and repair
- Use the house as the primary place of residence
- Participate in annual inspections and recertifications
Very Low Income Housing. The VLI Housing is the deed of trust program for houses constructed under the NAHASDA program. Program highlights:
- Family meet program eligible requirements
- Income not exceed 20% of the median income limit
- Sign Deed of Trust and Promissory Note for 10 years
- The deed is recorded in the state recorder’s office
- No house payments
- Do all of the maintenance and repair to the unit
- Responsible for all costs associated with maintenance and repair
- Use the house as the primary place of residence
- Participate in annual inspections and recertifications
