EHAG provides housing assistance grants to tribes who have named the housing authority as their TDHE. The grant is administered by the tribe for be applied towards students’ actual housing costs. EHAG cannot be use to cover other fees or costs such as travel or meals.
Each year tribes are notified of funds available under EHAG. The tribe submits the required paperwork to be considered for the grant. Tribes are notified when the application is approved.
As of the 2009 Indian Housing Plan a total of $80,000 is made available region-wide. Each tribe is eligible to receive a maximum of $5,000 per year.
Interested students need to contact their tribal office to see if EHAG funds are available.
