Ronald Hoffman

Ronald Hoffman, Chief Executive OfficerOne of the longest standing serving employees of AVCP Regional Housing Authority, Ron began working for AVCP RHA in 1985 as a Planner and has held the positions of Planning Director, Development Specialist, Special Projects Director, Facilities and Maintenance Director and the Facilities and Development Director before taking the reigns as the President and Chief Executive Office of the housing authority. As the President and Chief Executive Officer he bought 15 years of housing development experience.

As the President and CEO of AVCP RHA, Ron set new direction in construction of new homes by use of the force account method of construction by training and employing local people from the region and to establish partnerships with organizations within the region and the state to increase the affordable housing opportunities, services and jobs in the AVCP region.

He was instrumental in the partnering with Alaska Workplace to develop the Building Maintenance Repairer Program. Many of the participants of this program are hired in AVCP RHA projects as apprenticeships working toward their journeyman certificates.

Ron is a founding member of the Yuut Elitnarviat, a consortium of local and regional organizations, partnering to address formation of a regional training center for the AVCP region. He serves as the Secretary of the YE Board. Ron also serves as the Vice-Chairman of the Association of Alaska Housing Authorities and is the past president. Ron serves on the board of Nuvista Light and Power. Ron is a past member of the National Indian American Housing Council.

Ron, an Alaska Native, was born and raised in Aniak. He is married to Cathleen and they have four children.
